Privacy policy
This policy explains what data the Conclave app accesses, how it uses that data, where it is stored, who it is shared with, and how you delete it. It covers the Conclave app (the hub, the web app, and the desktop and phone apps) and this website.
How Conclave works
Conclave is software you run yourself. It runs on a computer you control, called your hub, and on the apps you connect to it. The people who make Conclave do not run a server that receives your chats, files, mail or account data. Everything Conclave stores is stored on your hub.
Data Conclave stores
- Your chats and sessions: the messages you send, the answers, and the files and tool results in them.
- Your settings and memories: preferences, notes the assistant keeps for you, and the projects and devices you set up.
- Your keys and sign-in tokens: API keys and account tokens you add, kept in a secrets file on your hub that only your hub can read.
Google user data
You can connect a Google account so your assistant can help with your mail, calendar and files. Conclave asks only for the access you turn on, and you can turn each one off.
| Google service | What Conclave accesses | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Account info | Your name, email address and profile picture | To show which account is connected |
| Gmail | Messages, threads, labels and attachments | To search, read and summarize mail you ask about, and to write drafts. Mail is sent only after you approve it. |
| Google Calendar | Calendars, events and free or busy times | To find free time and to add, move or cancel events. Changes are made only after you approve them. |
| Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides | Files you search for or open, and their contents | To find, read and summarize files, and to create or edit files after you approve it |
| Google Tasks | Task lists and tasks | To show and add your tasks |
| Google Contacts | Names and email addresses of your contacts | To address mail and invites to the right people |
Google data is read only when you ask for something that needs it. It is not collected in the background, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
How data is used
- Only to give you the features you use in Conclave, such as answering your question, writing a draft or adding an event.
- Never sold, never used for ads, and never used to develop, improve or train AI models.
- No person reads your data, unless you ask for help and share it yourself, it is needed for security or abuse reasons, or the law requires it.
Who data is shared with
- The AI model you choose: to do a task, your hub sends the content that task needs (for example the email you asked about) to the AI model provider you picked in Settings, or to a model running on your own computer. That provider handles it under its own terms.
- Friends you share with: a chat or project is sent to another Conclave hub only when you choose to share it with a friend.
- No one else: the makers of Conclave never receive your data. Conclave has no analytics and no tracking.
Storage and security
- Data stays on your hub. Sign-in tokens are kept in its secrets file, which the assistant's own tools are not allowed to read.
- Data moves between your hub, your apps, Google and your AI provider over encrypted connections (HTTPS or TLS).
- Your hub and apps need your password or a paired device key before they show anything.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
- Google sign-in tokens are kept until you disconnect the account in Conclave's Settings. Disconnecting deletes them from your hub.
- Google data that appears in a chat stays in that chat until you delete the chat. Deleting it deletes it from your hub.
- You can remove Conclave's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To delete everything, delete Conclave's data folder on your hub.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Conclave's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
